This conference series was initiated in Sendai, Japan in 2000
and has played a significant role in the development of Energy and
Environment of Residential Buildings. This is a well-attended
conference attracting researchers, industry leaders and academics
from Asia, Europe and North America. ICEERB 2018 will adopt an
overarching theme of housing sustainability in urban areas.
The conference offers a programme that will not only facilitate
exchange on exciting research and developments across a range of
fields, but will also support and encourage dialogue with industry

We are excited to welcome keynote speakers including Professor
Diana Ürge-Vorsatz from the Central European University, Professor
Harrison Fraker, Professor of Architecture and Urban Design at
Berkeley University and Professor Li Zhu of the School of
Architecture at Tianjin University, China (TBC).
Professor Ürge-Vorsatz is Director at the
Centre for Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Policy, Vice Chair
of Working Group III of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change, member of Academia Europa and Professor and Director of
Environmental Sciences and Policy at the Central European
University. Her work focuses on integration of climate change
mitigation and sustainable development objectives, energy efficient
and sustainable buildings, and climate change mitigation in
Professor Harrison Fraker specialises in
architecture, passive solar, sustainable design and urban design
and is the author of The Hidden Potential of Sustainable
Neighbourhoods. Professor Fraker is Chair of the Energy Resources
Group based at Berkeley University and is visiting Professor of
Sustainable Urban Design at Lund University, Sweden.
Professor Li Zhu (TBC) is a Professor of
Architecture in the Department of Building Technology at Tianjin
University in China. She is the President of the Asia-Pacific
Economic Cooperation (APEC) Sustainable Energy Centre and is the
deputy executive director of Tianjin Municipal Energy Research
Centre. Her work focuses on low-carbon building design and
sustainable energy systems for low-carbon towns.
