Exciting new leadership role in the Office of the Director of Public Health, Te Pou Hauora Tūmatanui [Public Health Agency] and Manatū Hauora

  • Salary midpoint of $175,627, actual salary dependent on your experience

What You'll Do

As an integral member of the Office of the Director of Public health (ODPH) you will make a significant contribution to strategies and policy that address health inequity and improve health outcomes.  The ODPH is the central source of expert clinical advice and leadership on all public health strategy, policy and regulatory matters.  You will convene clinical expertise from across the system which will influence Government priorities, policy and strategy.  You will be part of a team with vision and commitment and make a positive contribution to the elimination of health inequities and improvements in health outcomes through participation in cross functional teams across Te Pou Hauora Tūmatanui, Manatū Hauora and the wider public health system.

Utilise your clinical leadership and influencing skills as you work in collaboration with colleagues in Manatū Hauora, Te Aka Whai Ora, Te Whatu Ora and the wider public health system.  You will be a respected public health practitioner with a strong commitment to influence the determinants of health, apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi across your work, and improve health outcomes for those most underserved including Māori, Pacific, and disabled people.

Hybrid working available, and the role could be based in Wellington, Auckland or Christchurch or other base by mutual agreement.
