Exciting new senior role in the Office of the Director of Public Health, Te Pou Hauora Tūmatanui [Public Health Agency] and Manatū Hauora

  • Provide leadership and coordination in the delivery of all elements of the work of the ODPH
  • Salary midpoint of $136,833, actual salary dependent on your experience

What You'll Do

As an integral member of ODPH you will make a significant contribution to the planning, coordination and delivery of evidence based clinical insights into strategy and policy that address health inequity and improve public health outcomes.  The ODPH is the central source of expert clinical advice and system leadership on all public health strategy, policy and regulatory matters.  You will support the Director of Public Health through coordination of work across the team which has influence on Government priorities, policy and strategy.  You will be part of a team with vision and commitment and make a positive contribution to the elimination of health inequities and improvements in health outcomes through participation in cross functional teams across Te Pou Hauora Tūmatanui, Manatū Hauora and the wider public health system.

Utilise your planning and delivery skills as you work in collaboration with colleagues in Manatū Hauora, Te Aka Whai Ora, Te Whatu Ora and the wider public health system.  You will provide leadership in the coordination of work across the team, ensuring timelines are met and work is effectively triaged, planned, tracked and quality assured.  Whist a background as a public health practitioner is not essential, it is highly desirable. You will have a strong commitment to influence the determinants of health, apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi across your work, and improve health outcomes for those most underserved including Māori, Pacific, and disabled people.

Hybrid working available, and the role could be based in Wellington, Auckland or Christchurch or other base by mutual agreement.
