Toi Te Ora is part of the National Public Health Service within Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand and is based in the Te Manawa Taki region. We develop and deliver innovative and high-quality public health initiatives to improve, promote and protect the health of the communities in the Bay of Plenty and Lakes areas.
This is an exciting time to be working in public health in Aotearoa as we move through a period of transformation to implement the Pae Ora/Healthy Futures vision of a reformed system where people live longer in good health, have improved quality of life, and there is equity between all groups.
Your skills and attributes will include the following:
- A vocationally registered public health physician with the New Zealand Medical Council.
- Already designated or able to work towards designation as a Medical Officer of Health
- Competent in integrating Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori health models and frameworks into practice.
- The ability to be courageous and be willing to challenge the status quo in a professional manner.
- The ability to see possibilities, potential and tangible opportunities to create an outstanding and integrated health system.
- High levels of emotional intelligence, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as an ability to bring people together toward common goals.
- Strong leadership, coaching, training, and development skills
