08 Dec 2021
The New Zealand College of Public Health Medicine (the College) is the professional body representing the medical specialty of public health medicine in New Zealand.
Public Health Medicine is the branch of medicine concerned with the assessment of population health and health care needs, the development of policy and strategy, health promotion, and the control and prevention of disease. Achieving health equity is a fundamental component of the practice of public health medicine, and the College and its members seek to eliminate inequities across socioeconomic and ethnic groups, and promote environments in which everyone can be healthy.
The College has recently adopted a new He Rautaki Māori / Māori Strategy, informed by te Tiriti o Waitangi, which states our goal of being a culturally safe, anti-racist, pro-equity and Tiriti compliant College by 2040.
We are looking for an individual with a passion for health equity and Māori health, with the capacity to interact with confidence at a senior level, to lead the implementation of our Rautaki Māori / Māori Strategy and to assist the College to achieve its 2040 goal.
This is a permanent, part-time position.
